🚀 ZS Campus Beats Tech Challenge 2025 — Interview Experience

Here is my detailed experience of the ZS Campus Beats Tech Challenge 2025.
This program provides pre-final year students with a Pre-Placement Interview (PPI) opportunity for the Business Technology Solutions Associate (BTSA) role (and DAA Role through Case Challenge) at ZS Associates.

💬 Rounds for Tech Challenge

🧠 Round 1: General Aptitude (Individual Round)

  • Type: MCQ
  • Description: Each team member appeared individually for this round. It included general aptitude and logical reasoning questions.
  • Platform: Superset
  • Difficulty: Easy–Medium
  • Experience: Straightforward aptitude test; time management was key.

💻 Round 2: Technical Assessment (Only for Team Lead)

  • Type: Coding + SQL + Front-End (Angular)
  • Description:
    • SQL Reasoning: Write and debug SQL queries.
    • Hands-on Programming: DSA questions (Easy).
    • Front-End Simulator: Fix existing Angular code and check the results on a live preview screen.
  • Platform: Superset
  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Experience: The most crucial round. Tested teamwork, hands-on implementation, and problem-solving.

🎉 After the online assessment, our team ranked among the top 125 teams in India and received a PPI for the BTSA role.


PPI Rounds

🗣️ Round 3: English Communication Test

  • Type: Communication Skills Assessment
  • Sections: Reading comprehension, listening, speaking, and essay writing
  • Duration: ~1 hour
  • Platform: Superset
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Experience: Straightforward; clarity and pronunciation matter the most.

💬 Round 4: Virtual Technical Interview

Type: Technical
Duration: ~25 minutes
Platform: Superset (Virtual)

📝 Description:

  • Began with self-introduction and discussion about primary skills and preferred languages.

  • Asked to write 2 SQL queries live during the interview.

  • Coding Question (Python Mandatory):

    Given a list containing English alphabets and numbers,
    separate them, sort each individually, and print them.

  • Follow-up discussion included:

    • Experience with version control tools
    • Overview of projects, tech stack, and individual role in projects

🎯 Difficulty:

Medium

💡 Experience:

An interactive, conversation-style interview focused on practical understanding and adaptability.
Although not finally selected, it was a first time On-campus Interview Experience.

Final Selection: 2/4 team members selected for BTSA Role

Smooth, professional, and well-structured selection process with clear communication at each stage.

Key Preparation Topics:

  • SQL (Queries, Joins, Subqueries)
  • DSA Fundamentals (Arrays, Strings, Logic Building)
  • Angular / Front-End Basics
  • Python Programming
  • Communication & Soft Skills

Tips for Aspirants:

  • Be prepared to switch technologies (e.g., coding in Python instead of C++).
  • If you mention multiple languages on your resume, even if used only in projects (not for DSA),
    be ready to solve DSA or coding questions in those languages.
  • Practice hands-on problem-solving under time limits.
  • Keep your projects and roles clear and concise for discussion.
  • Strengthen both technical and communication aspects.
